Abstract’s submission

The 32nd edition of the International Seminar on Urban Form will be held in Torino, Italy.
ISUF 2025 expects to receive numerous contributions on the topics highlighted in this outline.

The dates of the conference are from June 17th to 20th, 2025. The deadline to submit abstracts is February 20th, 2025.
Applicants will receive a response regarding the acceptance of their proposals by March 20th.

To submit an abstract with a contribution proposal, please choose one of the following topics:

  1. SHAPING THE CITY: Exploring Future Urban Forms
  2. MAPPING THE CITY: Evolving Tools to Study Urban Forms
  3. ENVISIONING THE CITY: Enhancing Theoretical Models of Urban Forms
  4. AI APPLICATIONS ON URBAN FORMS: City as a Device (Agents & Experiments)

The abstracts should be submitted through SYMPOSIUM platform. Please, fill in both the submission form and attach the abstract file following this [TEMPLATE].
Applicants may submit more than one abstract for review.
By submitting the abstract the authors hereby affirm that the work submitted is theirs, original and recent.

The deadline for submission is the February 20th 2025 before 23:59 CEST.
The abstract must be written in English filling the provided TEMPLATE.
Word limit for the abstract is 300 words.
The abstracts are peer-reviewed.
To facilitate the blind review process, individuals and institutions should not be identified in the body of the abstract; e.g. use ‘author’s institution’ instead of using the name of the company or the university.
No bibliographic references are required.
The submissions will be blind-peer-reviewed by the conference scientific committee and reviewers and, upon acceptance and registration, invited for an oral presentation in one of the conference sessions.
The selected abstracts will be published in a book of abstracts.
Selected authors will be asked to provide one image 1600×1600 pixel in png (drawings) or jpeg (pictures) format and a short bio to be published in the book of abstracts.

At least one author of the selected abstract must pay full conference registration fees to present at the conference and be eligible for inclusion in the proceedings. All the authors willing to participate to the conference must pay full registration fees.
Applicants, whose proposal will be accepted, will be asked to send a full paper after the conference (deadline will be communicated during the conference).
After a peer review process, the proceedings of the ISUF 2025 Conference will be published by an indexed Open Access Book series.
Failure to comply with the conference deadlines or request for materials in advance may result in an author being dropped from the program.

Registration and fees

The payment for ISUF2025 registration must be completed using a credit card or a bank transfer according to the official payment instructions described on [SYMPOSIUM] Platform.
Please also include your name and ISUF2025 in the transfer title.
Regular and Late Price registration fees and deadlines are listed below.

Fees include: paper oral presentation (or attendance only), conference materials, coffee breaks and lunches, and the book of abstracts.
Registration also includes the ISUF International membership fee and a one-year (two issues) subscription to the Urban Morphology Journal.
Fees regarding excursions and the gala dinner are not included in the registration fee and will be announced soon.

The corresponding author who will be presenting the paper is required to pay the full registration fee. Co-authors not presenting but attending the conference can register by paying the Attendance Fee Only.
During the Nanjing Symposium, the Steering Committee will select four abstracts from early-career researchers deemed excellent, granting them a free registration fee to participate in the conference.

CANCELLATION POLICY

  • A cancellation fee of 50% of the full registration fee plus a processing fee (20 Euros) and wire transfer or credit card costs will be applied for cancellations received by May 31, 2025
  • No refund will be issued for cancellations received after May 31, 2025
  • All cancellations must be sent in writing via e-mail (info@symposium.it) to the congress secretariat.
  • The congress organising committee and secretariat are not responsible for problems beyond our control such as weather conditions, public order issues, strikes, etc. No refunds will be given in these situations. No reimbursement will be made for late arrival, unused services, unattended events or early departure from the congress.
  • The final decision on refunds rests with the congress organizers.
  • All refunds will be made after the congress ending.
